John Barclay and Eileen Dyson have both been interested in art since they were in their early teens, and have dabbled on and off over the years. Having both retired in the North - East, they joined the same Art Class in Stonehaven Community Centre about 4 years ago, where they both met. They work mostly in water colours and acrylics and are taking in a Day Workshop in Oils in Stonehaven- so expect some new material from them soon! They also attend a class organised by Aberdeenshire Council - where meetings are held with other artists to exchange ideas, work, and to also recieve lots of help from the tutor. Both have sold paintings through local art exhibitions, one of which was organised by Aberdeenshire Council where an invitation was extended to exhibit. John & Eileen paint at least three, sometimes four, times a week. Lots of their inspiration is taken from the colourful and interesting surrounding area of Stonehaven and Aberdeenshire as well as from further afield.
